is a MArch II graduate student at Yale's School of Architecture class of 2022, just completed her BArch at the University of Miami's five year program. She is also the owner of Sydney R. Maubert LLC, art. She hopes to use her educational, professional and personal experiences, in practice and pedagogy to design equitable spaces for marginalized students and users.
She works as an intern at Trelles Cabarrocas (2019), formerly a teaching assistant in the University of Miami's School of Architecture. She works as a muralist and an artist, commissioning paintings through "Sydney R. Maubert, LLC". Formerly worked as a Secretary in the School of Architecture for five years and was an editorial research assistant to Professor Victor Deupi, on the publication Transformations in Classical Architecture for two years (2018). Sydney just returned from the School of Architecture's Rome Travel Program in Spring 2019. She also produces renderings on behalf of Germane Barnes, (2017- 2018). She is also the recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi Award (2020), Rome Program Award (2019), Lidia Abello Award (2017), Preston Award (2016), and is a member of the Foote Fellows Honor Program, Women in Architecture, SoA Ambassadors, Association for Commuter Students and Planet Kreyol. She currently serves as Vice President of Women in Architecture, served as Secretary in Women in Architecture (2017). She has consistently made Dean's list throughout her college career thus far. Summer 2020, Sydney participated in the LFRT Virtual Dean's Summit as the only student panelist on behalf of UM, speaking on issues regarding professional studio culture and BIPOC students in academia. Summit Fall 2018, Sydney had the pleasure of being the only student panelist at Miami's AIA Women in Architecture Conference, speaking on inclusion in pedagogy and curriculum, due to her involvement to the University chapter of Women in Architecture. She has participated and researched for a HUD charrette (2015). She contributed to a hotel topology exhibit in Art Basel (2017). Sydney also ran the University of Miami's School of Architecture's tumblr account (2017). Sydney is proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, Lumion, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. She is skilled in hand drafting, painting in oil, acrylic, and water coloring. |
